If you haven’t picked up Theresa Sauer’s
Notations 21, you’re missing out on a brilliant collection of fascinatingly creative visual pieces from over 100 international composers.
Not only that, but it’s a beautifully designed book – courtesy of Mike Perry – whose art now adorns some awesome-looking t-shirts and posters from a collection called the Insound 10 Classic. The batch is a visual narrative of 20 years (1977-1997) of punk, new wave and indie rock, and includes designs for Richard Hell & the Voidoids (Hell also wrote the intro to Buzz Poole’s CBGB: Decades of Graffiti, coincidentally), Sunny Day Real Estate, Sleater-Kinney and more.
