MBP Fave Mimoco & Munky King Designer Toy Store Team Up For Month Long L.A. MIMOBOT Pop-Up Shop

At MBP we loooove cute, functional stuff – which is why we adore Mimoco (one of this year’s Urban Arts Fest sponsors!), the makers of the MIMOBOT: designer flash drives that really look, essentially, like toys. Their designs range from exclusive artist creations, to Hello Kitty to Toki Doki to Star Wars, and we love ‘em all. Now, they’re teaming up with Munky King in L.A. for a month-long pop-up shop, while we wait jealously here on the East Coast hoping for an NYC counterpart!

Boston, MA / Los Angeles, CA –October 15, 2009 – Mimoco, the Boston-based maker of MIMOBOT® designer USB flash drives, announced today that they’ve partnered with Los Angeles retailer Munky King to create the world’s first MIMOBOT Pop-Up Shop which will run from November 1st through November 29th, 2009.
Mimoco, known for the cutting edge, cute, often eccentric and always data-hungry MIMOBOT USB flash drive platform that is part toy, part contemporary character, part digital media delivery vehicle, and part data storage and transport device, has given pop artists like Gary Baseman, David Horvath, and Simone Legno, yet another outlet in which to showcase their original creations. Moreover, the MIMOBOT collection also features iconic licenses from Lucasfilm’s Star Wars franchise to Sanrio’s Hello Kitty, who happens to be celebrating her 35th anniversary this month, as well as original MIMOBOT and community designed characters. The MIMOBOT Pop-Up Shop @ Munky King is the first retail environment solely dedicated to the MIMOBOT brand.
During the month-long pop-up, Mimoco and Munky King will host opening and closing parties, on November 5th and November 27th, respectively, featuring live art installations, live music, artist signings, contests, giveaways and an exclusive MIMOBOT release that has yet to be announced.
