Since our new book Vending Machines: Coined Consumerism is all the rage (as reported by Fast Company, MTV Iggy, Japan Today, Lost at E Minor and more this week!), we’ve been keeping abreast of other VM-relevant stuff in the news. This past week at The National Automatic Merchandising Association show in Chicago, both Kraft and Coca-Cola debuted super futuristic looking touch-screen vending machines for their snacks and beverages.
Resembling iPhones, these machines – Kraft’s Diji-Touch and Coke’s Interactive Vendor – have 46-inch Samsung LCD screens that work with sliding, swiveling, touching and tapping. You can check out all-angle and different sized images of the snacks, nutritional information, and flip through all the brands with a touch of a finger.
Keep your eyes peeled for the future of vending, rolling out into the public this winter!
