Hey, Amsterdam! It’s The American Book Center’s ABC URBAN ARTS FESTIVAL, JUNE 26, 2010!

MBP’s good friends, The American Book Center (Amsterdam, The Netherlands, www.abc.nl) proudly announces the launch of THE ABC URBAN ARTS FESTIVAL – “WHERE DESIGN MEETS CRAFTS.” This is a unique festival where design and crafts go hand in hand.

From the release:

On the afternoon of Saturday June 26, 2010 we will set up the square in front of The American Book Center (Spui 12, Amsterdam ) as an outdoor atelier, with artists creating work on-site for the public to enjoy. Lessons and workshops in the ABC Treehouse (Voetboogstraat 11, across the square) will also be possible. On the square, artists will have the opportunity to gain exposure for their work, and to network with other artists and the public. Inside The American Book Center, we will create space for participants to sell selected works. (Selling is not possible on the square.)

We are inviting submissions from artists interested in participating, who are proficient in the field of design (i.e. sneaker design, typography, product design, skateboard design, fashion design, T-shirt design, illustration, graphics etc.) …AND ALL FORMS OF CRAFTS.

The American Book Center will provide exhibition and work space, coordination of the square and Treehouse activities, and refreshments for all participants. Artists will arrange transportation for themselves and their work. (ABC has no funds for transportation.) Both parties will promote the event through various means.
