Black Comix in Library Journal, and Georgia
February 4, 2011
Hard to believe it is February, but it is, which means it’s Black History Month. Library Journal says: “The past year was a good one for African American-themed comics. Traditional publishers as well as the comics industry have come out with plentiful and quality reads across age brackets.” Included on this list is MBP’s Black Comix, the first comprehensive comics anthology dedicated to the vibrant African American comics scene, dubbed “sumptuous” in the article. Co-authors Damian Duffy and John Jennings have been organizing all sorts of great events since the book’s release, and the next one in East Point, Georgia, promises to be excellent since several of the contributors will be on hand. You can keep up with all the Black Comix action at the book’s official website.
