Artist Noma Bar of “Guess Who” & Upcoming “Negative Space” Chosen by VAROOM as “Illustrator that Defines a Decade”

July 27, 2009

varoom1001Over the past several years, artist and MBP author Noma Bar has received an overwhelming amount of praise for his socially and politically-fueled artwork. Now, Varoom Magazine, one of the most respected culture and illustration magazines in the UK, has officially recognized Bar as an “Illustrator that Defines a Decade.” Read the PDF article here.

“Noma’s use of colour and graphic form really project in the typographic environment of a newspaper or magazine page, but his great strength is the intelligence he brings – he has a real grasp of the subjects he illustrates. He finds the message at the heart of the article and translates it into something that is not only visually satisfying, but also invites the reader to participate in solving a kind of puzzle.” -Mark Porter, Varoom 10, Summer 2009

Keep your eyes peeled for Bar’s second book with MBP, Negative Space, an exciting successor to the highly-acclaimed Guess Who: The Many Faces of Noma Bar published in 2007.
