History of American Graffiti

April 5, 2011

Our own Buzz Poole shows up on The Millions today to tell you why you need to read The History of American Graffiti by Roger Gastman and Caleb Neelon. The book is out this month from Harper Design, coinciding with the opening of the graffiti survey exhibition Art in the Streets at MOCA. It’s not that often that we urge people to read other publishers’ books, so you know it must be worth all the hype.

Though once you get your graffiti education from The History of American Graffiti, you’ll probably want to check out Los Angeles Graffiti, also by Gastman, as well as  Name Tagging, Textura, Textura Dos, Bay Area Graffiti, Going Postal, Graffiti Japan, and the rest of our graffiti and urban art books, right?
