Happy Persian New Year!
March 19, 2009
Tehran-based street artist, and Urban Iran contributor, A1ONE sent us this Iranian New Year greeting. The two-week observance that begins on the vernal equinox (March 20 this year) is called Norooz and is celebrated with fire jumping, spring cleaning and family gatherings, all in the name of newness.
If you dig A1ONE’s work, over the next couple of months you can see it here in New York at the Bronfman Center as well as in Australia where some of his stencils will be part of the traveling exhibition Your Kid Can’t Do This.
For more info about Urban Iran, check out this PBS Art Beat interview with Charlotte Noruzi, the book’s creative director.
Happy New Year
