Cushzilla!
January 13, 2011

Sometimes the echoes and reverberations that make up the Japan-America fad exchange reach a cranium-shaking pitch. Sometimes it’s good, like charaben-esque hamburgers. Sometimes it’s bad, but, y’know, to each their own. It looks like kigurumi, those (adorable? creepy? kimo kawaii?) fur-suit mascots that’re treated in the new MBP book Fuzz and Fur, have swum the ocean and infiltrated the States: check out Cushzilla. Obviously, we’re looking at a the polyester-furred offspring of Gojira and a monstrous Snuggie. Whether that’s a good thing or a bad thing is your call, but if you’re the sort who’s going to try to impress friends on National Snuggie Day, you could do worse (and anyway, cobalt was last season).
