20×200
January 6, 2011
If you’re not acquainted with the excellent affordable art collecting site 20×200, now is the time to get familiar! You may say, “affordable art” is an oxymoron, in which case, I would, firstly, point you towards our excellent books. However, hoping you are somewhat familiar with those (but if you’re not, go here), I would then point you towards 20×200, which offers up original artwork for the mere price of $20 (and upwards, depending on size). Nope, there’s no trick there, it’s $20 (okay, okay, plus shipping). The pieces they offer are very tastefully curated, and are selected from many different forms and styles – illustration, photography, digital, you name it. Each piece is offered in a few different sizes, in batches of 200 which is what helps keep the prices affordable. As it’s top of the new year, the site just reposted a little introductory item on how the site works – but if I’ve done a decent job explaining it for you, then you might want to go browse some of the pieces they’re currently offering! The above piece is “Untitled (May the bridges I burn light the way.)” by Mike Monteiro, and there are still a few copies left.
